Driven. Collaborative. Entrepreneurial. Jennifer Wiens is gifted with an unrelenting commitment to delivering excellence and consistently going above and beyond to achieve success. She is the Founder, Principal Recruitment Consultant, and CEO of The New Network, a boutique Executive Search firm that specializes in finding the perfect fit for growing teams and for individuals focused on taking the next step toward a new career.

For the past 6 years, Jennifer has leveraged the “Talent on Demand” approach to identify, attract, and recruit candidates who are a perfect match for the position. Because she doesn’t use a database to find candidates, Jennifer has been effective in identifying true talent for top performing teams across diverse industries and sectors, including high growth tech, software services, start-ups, and others. Under her leadership, The New Network has grown significantly. She is the driving force behind 50% year-over-year growth for 6 years running. She has earned a reputation for excellence among her clients, working with large corporations to find team members that are a perfect fit for their initiatives and cultures, as well as fast-growing start-ups who need to scale quickly and secure the top talent in their fields. In one recent engagement, Jennifer and her team devised and executed a strategy that enabled a high-growth tech start-up to scale successfully from 27 to 160 team members in just 18 months, leading to a successful acquisition. Additionally, The New Network played a critical role in scaling and expanding a leading-edge fintech company from 30 team members in 2021 to 75 in 2022. Jennifer is working closely with the client now to design an effective strategy to accelerate growth moving forward.

As a Recruitment Consultant at Summit Search Group, Jennifer dove in, established relationships with clients and candidates and quickly turned recruiting on its head. She did this by shifting away from “doing what we always did” by eliminating the need for a database and actually identifying and building rapport with individuals who were a perfect fit for the clients’ business and operational needs.

In her previous role as a Recruitment Consultant at Summit Search Group, a large national firm, Jennifer was pivotal in determining clients’ needs, serving as a trusted consultant and thought leader, and identifying real talent. She consistently exceeded expectations and earned the status of being the top producing recruiter in the Calgary office for each of her three years in the role.

Earlier in her career, she was a Business Development Consultant at Ricoh Canada, Inc., a Territory Manager, School Division at Nelson Education, and a Territory Manager at Lyreco Office Products. She gained more than 10 years of stellar sales experience and excelled in highly competitive and fast-paced business-to-business environments across Canada. Jennifer earned a BA Honours in Sociology from University of Calgary, and studied for a year at Northwestern University, where she was awarded a full Ph.D. Program Scholarship.

She is active in the community and has served in a leadership capacity on the school counsels at Hillhurst Elementary and West Island College, and managed HR functions as a volunteer at the Windermere Valley Ski Club.
